How Can Association Standards Gain International Recognition?
Authoritative Institutions Unveil Insights in Shenzhen
High-Level Dialogue: State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), China Association for Standardization (CAS), Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE-China), UHD World Association (UWA), and Comentropy Service Center
November 7, 2025
Peony Hall, Shenzhen Futian International Convention and Exhibition Center
When the Audio Vivid standard of the UHD World Association (UWA) was adopted as an international standard by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-R)—standing alongside Dolby AC-4 and MPEG-H as a global 3D audio standard—group standards transformed from a “supplementary role” to a “pioneering force” in China’s standard internationalization efforts.
However, in today’s fiercely competitive global landscape and increasingly fragmented standardization governance, how can association standards break through the bottlenecks of international recognition? What key changes are needed in top-level design? What roles do industry associations, technical service institutions, and international alliances play?
On November 7, 2025, the Innovation and Standardization Workshop, a key segment of the 2025 Consumer Electronics Innovation Congress (CEIC), will host a high-level dialogue in Shenzhen. This event, organized by the CEIC Organizing Committee and Comentropy Industry and Standard Innovation Service Center, with support from the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), will bring together over 200 experts and guests from the standardization field.

Policy Background
The Action Plan for the Implementation of the National Standardization Development Outline (2024-2025) explicitly calls for “steadily expanding institutional openness in standards.” As a crucial part of China’s standardization system, association standards are becoming a breakthrough for international standardization. From photovoltaics to blockchain, from automotive to Ultra HD video, an increasing number of association standards are gaining international recognition, contributing Chinese solutions to global governance.
This roundtable will systematically present how association standards can progress from domestic promotion to international recognition, and how single standards can build global ecosystems, focusing on policy, strategy, practice, and services.
